Walk-around inspection - How to perform and what to check

Walk around the dozer and check for obstructions, people and "Do Not Operate" tags.

During walk-around inspection it is important to:

    1. Check for loose bolts and structural damage.
    2. Inspect implements for damage or excessive wear.
    3. Inspect implement cylinders for leaks, damage, or wear.
    4. Check radiator guard for trash build-up.
    5. Check tracks for damage, wear, and proper tension.
    6. Check rollers for leaks and wear.
    7. Inspect final drives for leaks.
    8. Check ripper tip and shank guard.
    9. Mount machine properly.
    10. Check for engine oil.
    11. Inspect engine compartment for leaks or potential problems.
    12. Check for coolant and check cooling system for leaks or trash build-up.
    13. Check hydraulic sight glass for oil.
    14. Check transmission and torque converter oil level.
    15. Check fire extinguisher for seal and tag.
